Supapele NPC and Sanlam's: #MandelaDay2018- ‘1 learner, 1 pair of shoes" campaign!

In 2018, to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s 100th birthday, Supapele NPC partnered with Sanlam (who also celebrated their centenary milestone) for #MandelaDay2018 on their ‘One learner, one pair of shoes’ campaign!

There were 4 ways YOU could have helped during this campaign:

1. You could have been assigned a ‘footprint’ (from your friendly Supapele member)!

Each footprint showed a learner’s name and shoe size. You were then asked to buy a pair of school shoes to fit your chosen learner, slip the footprint back into the shoe with a personalised message and we would have collected!

2. Another way to get involved was by donating any amount, we then pooled everything that was paid together and purchased as many school shoes as possible.

3. You could have bought a pair of school shoes in any size for either a boy or a girl and we would have collected!

4. Alternatively, you could have visited: https://shopforgood.co.za/ and purchased school supplies off their website for a Blue Label School which Sanlam had pledged to support.

We committed to making a difference to the underprivileged children is South Africa and rallied our supporters to help us ensure that 50 disadvantaged learners were each given a pair of new black school shoes.

Not only did we reach our goal, we managed to COMPLETELY supersede our own expectations by collecting a total of 106 pairs of school shoes!
